YoYo Picks: NFL Futures and Win Totals

Steelers O9.5 Wins -110 (2U)

I expect Big Ben and company to be highly motivated this season after a disastrous season both on and off the field. The Steelers schedule sets up very nicely after the first few weeks and I have them penciled in for 11 wins this season.

Seahawks U8.5 -105 (2U)

I never like to step in front of Pete Carrols group, but Russell Wilson will have to pull miracles to get this team back the playoffs. This roster has very little offensive talent outside of Wilson, and is going through a huge transition on the defensive of the side of the ball. On top of all the talent that has departed Seattle over the last couple of seasons, this schedule is absolutely BRUTAL. Road games at Pitt, Cleveland, Philly, Atlanta, and Carolina along with Home games against NO, Balt, and Minn is a treacherous draw for this inexperienced group.

Division Winners

Green Bay +215

As long as a healthy Aaron Rodgers is at the helm, I am always looking to back GB in this division. The Packers have invested heavily in the top of the draft the past two seasons and  acquired veteran linebackers Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith and Safety Adrian Amos. Lastly, the cross over schedule benefits GB this season over Chicago (At LAR, vs NO) and Minn (At Sea, vs Atl) as they get At SF, vs Car.

Philly Eagles +100

In a two man race with the Cowboys, I am backing Philly to top the division for three reasons.

  1. Coaching: Pederson > Garrett
  2. QB: Wentz > Prescott
  3. The Eagles have the easiest schedule in the NFL this season and have clear advantages in the cross-scheduling over Dallas.

MVP

Deshaun Watson +2201 (.25U)

I think the number on Watson is too high. With Luck retired, the Texans start the season as the favorites in the AFC South and based off the trades they made this past weekend are all in. Watson has tons of weapons in the passing game to allow him to put up the necessary statistics that are required to get into the conversation. Without a constant run game, if Watson can carry the Texans to a division title ,which I expect him to do, he will be right in the mix late in the season in the MVP Race.
