What The Eagles Need To Do By The Trade Deadline On Tuesday After Winning In Buffalo

by Pub Sports Radio Admin

The Eagles got a much needed bounce back win Sunday up in windy Buffalo. After a weird week off the field, they started to look like the team I expect them to be as an Eagles fan. At the midway point of the season the Birds sit at 4-4 as they head home for a home date vs the struggling Bears in Week 9. They are clearly buyers after today. Here are some things they need to do as the trade deadline looms on Tuesday.

Make a TRADE with the Jets for WR Robby Anderson: The Eagles can’t continue to wait on Desean Jackson. He doesn’t seem really that close to coming back and at any rate is 32 years old. It’s clear that without a capable burner the Eagles are hamstrung. You need a young speedy option who can take the top off as well as a suitable long term option. You can get this done likely for a third round pick. Anderson is also local kid from Jersey and went to Temple. So local ties are abound.

Make a TRADE with the Broncos for CB Chris Harris: The Broncos are 2-6 and are likely to be sellers. Harris has been a guy that’s likely to be moved as they won’t resign him. It will probably take a 2nd to get the former Kansas DB, but its time to stop waiting on what you have. It’s clear there’s very few options on this team and Harris is a guy you can have start on one side for years. He’s an elite corner. It’s time to stop scrimping at corner and bring a real guy in. This teams inability to draft a DB has been laughable as well. Time to pull the trigger and make a splash.

Make a TRADE with the Jets for DT Leonard Williams: Possibly the biggest need of this team is help on the DL. Malik Jackson is out for the year, Haasan Ridgeway isn’t coming back anytime soon and Timmy Jernigan is out and continues to be hampered by chronic injuries. Coming out of USC, Leonard Williams was arguably the best player in the draft and while it hasn’t exactly panned out, he could help immensely. He was raw, still is but he’s a good run stopper and can get to the QB with his ridiculous speed. He’s also only 25 and is still growing as player. My bets are on him to continue to get better.

Hopefully moves are made…. I’m excited for them!
