UFC Fight Night: Ladd vs de Randamie Best Bets
Written by Preston Ekdahl on July 10, 2019
That’s right, the UFC makes a stop in Sacramento this upcoming weekend for another ESPN + card with a women’s bantamweight main event between Aspen Ladd and Germaine de Randamie. Lucky for bettors, this card has a bunch of fights with close odds so let’s settle in and find those winners.
Darren Elkins -105 over Ryan Hall
This line seems off. Maybe it’s because Ryan Hall is a former Ultimate Fighter winner or he is coming off a submission of the year candidate over BJ Penn. However, there is no way he should be a near pick’em with Darren Elkins. Elkins is coming off two losses. Against Lamas, he got beaten down on the ground and his other loss was against Alexander Volkanovski, who I feel will be the next featherweight champion. Prior to those fights, he had a 5 fight win streak over names like Mirsad Bektic, Michael Johnson, and Dennis Bermudez. Elkins is extremely tough and durable and just has more ways to win the fight. Ryan Hall is basically a jiu-jitsu specialist with next to no striking ability. As long as Elkins doesn’t wind up in one of Hall’s crazy leg submission holds, he should punish Hall over the course of 15 minutes and win an easy decision.
Andre Fili +100 over Sheymon Moraes
Both guys are excellent strikers with very good experience in the cage, but one guy has an advantage that just can’t be taught and that’s length. Andre Fili has what’s listed to be a 2 inch reach advantage but it’s how he uses that advantage which is why I love him here. He’s not going to let Moraes get inside on him to wing power punches; rather, he will keep him at bay with crushing leg kicks and knees making life miserable for Moraes. Add in the fact that this is a hometown fight of sorts for Fili, as he trains out of Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, and Fili gets it done for us with the nice even price.
Those are my favorite two bets for the card this weekend and both should cash with relative ease.
I also haven’t seen odds on the main event to go to a decision, but I would be shocked if it gets finished inside the distance so an over there would be another great look.
