The Pub Sports Radio Baseball Show: Five-Year Draft

On the latest Pub Sports Baseball radio show Andrew and Jose bring on two guests from the “The Chase’n The Pennant Podcast” podcast in Joe and Sean. In this episode, following last week’s All MLB Team episode the four hosts draft their MLB teams based on the best five-year projection. The draft order is as followed: Joe, Andrew, Jose, Sean, as the order was based on the oldest too youngest. The final round consisted of the group picking what stadium they would play in excluding their favorite team’s place, Andrew, Sean, Joe (Citizens Bank Park), and Jose (Fenway Park).  The draft would go as followed right here:

12 Jose Berrios (P) Rafael Devers (3B) George Springer (OF) Aaron Judge (OF)
Camden Yards (BAL) PNC Park (PIT) Yankee Stadium (NYY) Fenway Park (BOS)

Andrew won the draft if it was based on the most experienced team with his team being the oldest at an average age of 27 years old with zero current prospects on his roster. While his starting rotation of Jacob deGrom, Aaron Nola, and Mike Soroka with an average of 26 years old.

Jose would win the highest potential team based on age, with a team of 24 years old.  This included the number one ranked catching prospect in Adley Rutschman (22) of the Baltimore Orioles along with the NL rookie of the year winner in Pete Alonso. Jose also added the NL MVP from 2019 in Bellinger.

Sean drafted the youngest player but the highest-ranked prospect by MLB in Wander Franco (19) of the Tampa Bay Rays. Along with the youngest rotation of the group at 24 years old of Mike Kopech, Chris Paddack, and Walker Buehler. Sean grabbed arguably one of the best two-way players in the league with Arenado’s offense and defensive abilities.

Joe drafted a very young and powerful team that might not be listed as prospects but guys that are starting to make their name with a lot of potential. Players like Austin Meadows, Bo Bichette, and Matt Chapman all have MLB team but still improving through their young careers. He also added the best player in the game in Mike Trout with the first pick of the draft.
