Nikola Jokic is playing out of his mind, he’s currently averaging 27, 13 and 10 against a Portland team that lit up the Oklahoma City Thunder. I get it, he’s not going up against Jusuf Nurkic and Enes Kanter is running down the court clutching his back and shoulder as if he lifted up that one bag of groceries that weighs 10x more than every other bag. Still, what he is doing is remarkable, currently shooting 54 percent on 3, making all the right passes when the game is on the line and just being everywhere on the floor. For the purpose of this article, I am omitting his lackluster pick and roll defense which Portland has not exposed to the extent they can but every player has some faults.
Dame, KD and Kawhi are all playing out of their minds but what Jokic is doing for a team who’s other best player is 3rd year guard Jamal Murray, he’s something special. Luckily for Denver, they locked him with a well deserved max contract so he’s going to be torturing the bigs in the west for the next 10-15 years.
