That’s right, Andy Ruiz Jr, all 6 feet 2 inches which is very generous knocked out 6 foot 6 behemoth pride of England, Anthony Joshua in the 7th round of their fight tonight to win the heavyweight championship of the world. Joshua (22-1, 20 KO’s) just couldn’t stop the onslaught from Ruiz (33-1, 22 KO’s). Finally some new blood and it couldn’t come at a better time.

Andy Ruiz is the first Mexican champion in boxing history and won very impressively knocking down Joshua a total of 4 times en route to stopping him in the 7th. Of course, Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s manager had to state that the rematch will be in England at the end of the year but this night belongs to Andy Ruiz.
Congrats Andy Ruiz, you took your opportunity and ran with it and now are the heavyweight champion of the world.
