The Fed Ex Playoffs move to the Midwest this weekend as the Top 70 players visit Medinah. The prestigious venue hosted.
2006 PGA Championship (Won by Tiger Woods) and also the infamous 2012 Ryder where the Europeans stormed back to upset the Americans.
Course: Medinah (Course 3)
The course has been stretched out to 7613 yards this week, which is one of the longest tracks on tour this season. All four par 3s will play above 190 yards (three of which will be over water)
with several Par 4s ranging between 450-500 yards. It will be critical to take advantage of the 4 Par 5s this week as many of the players will be able to reach in two. From what I have seen from the course this week,
the fairways are narrow and the rough will be high putting in a little added emphasis on Driving Accuracy. (Bye Spieth)
Key Stats I am focusing on:
Par 4 scoring 450-500 yds
Par 5 Scoring
Justin Rose (+1610): Rose has 5 straight top 20 finishes to his name. The defending Fed Ex Cup champion is putting better than he ever has in his career right now and is knocking on the door for his next win. Last week, he gained over 7 strokes.
Putting in his best putting performance I have him ever recorded for. Rose has made his money being an Elite T2G player and I expect him to return to form this week.
Adam Scott (+2268): Scott hasn’t played that many times this year but sets up for this course perfectly. Scott has only played back to back weeks 3 times this year and each time he has played significantly better in the second week. (Last Week: 5th place)Additionally, Scott is one of the few players in this event who have significant experience playing this course (2nd to Tiger in ’06). Scott is 2nd on tour in Par 5 scoring this year, and has always been World Class with the irons. He will be in contention if he gets anything out of his putter this week.
Louie Oosthuizen (+5050): Louie was number one in the field last week at the Northern Trust in SG: T2G and just couldn’t buy a putt. Louie is notorious for being at the top of the leaderboard in these Star-studded fields. With his current form, this is a great price to jump on Louie.
Tournament Matchup Bets:
Horschel Over Day (+110)
Finau Over Xander (-102)
Kokrak Over Snedeker (-122)
Best of Luck
