K-Pop boy group GOT7 recently announced their 2019 world tour “Keep Spinning” preceding the release of their new album “Spinning Top: Between Security & Insecurity.” The tour will visit a total of twelve counties, including: South Korea, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Australia, China, England, Germany, Spain, France, and the Philippines. The tour will begin in South Korea in mid June, and will close in the Philippines in late October. However, there is a strong possibility that more dates and possibly more stops will be added at a later time, as the official tour poster and announcement both have “and more” after the list of already released stops.
This comes after JYP Entertainment’s (the company that GOT7 is signed under) world renowned and newest girl group Twice announced their world tour. However, the girl’s tour is only a fraction of GOT7’s, having only nine stops in seven countries, with only three dates total in the United States. Twice’s tour was followed by the release of their new single “Fancy.”
Going back to GOT7’s tour, they will have a total of four shows in the United States, beginning with Newark, NJ, followed by Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA, and finally Oakland, CA. Many were surprised by the venues GOT7 booked in the United States, especially the one the booked for their show in Dallas, TX: the American Airlines Center. Most K-Pop groups that visit Texas generally book the Verizon Theater in Dallas, or more recently the Smart Financial Center in Houston, both seating less than 7,000 people. However, the American Airlines Center seats a whopping 20,000, more than what the Verizon Theater and the Smart Financial Center can seat combined.
I personally will be attending the show in Dallas, and I am expecting a once in a lifetime concert performance!
