It feels really good to talk about a league coming back. And let’s be honest, it will be the start of them all eventually coming back. Credit to the German people for getting through the tough part of this awful pandemic. They are a picture of what you need to do to defeat this thing. Let me break down what you need to know about the Bundesliga if it’s been awhile since you looked at it.
Particulars to know if you are completely new to soccer. Teams are given 3 points for every win as they fight it out in the league week to week. 1 point for a draw. The Bundesliga is exciting for the atmosphere of these home stadiums, obviously right now we won’t have that, but the football is end to end generally with goals galore.
Most of you who may know a little about soccer know about the lead team in Germany in Bayern Munich. They are a star studded group filled with some of the worlds best who constantly are involved year to year in the Champions League where the best teams prove whose the best in Europe. Top end players on the side are leading scorer in the league Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Phillipe Couthinho and Canadian Alphonso Davies (who by the way is incredibly fast) Bayern had went into the break at their best defensively. They haven’t allowed a goal in 4 straight matches. The team to beat for sure.
They lead the league with 55 points, 4 ahead of 2nd place Borussia Dortmund. This league is great because the top 4 teams are within 6 points of each other. It will be quite the battle down the stretch.
Borussia Dortmund are so exciting, filled with plenty of young talent and it will fun to see if they can find a way to dethrone mighty Bayern. 20 year old Jadon Sancho is a wonder kid.
A team i really like is RB Leipzig. They are elite defensively and have one of the best players in the league in Timo Werner. They are paced up front by Frenchman Christopher Nkunku who is one of the best assist men in the league.
Paderborn and Werder Bremen are the two worse teams in the league by far. They can’t score and give up over 2 goals a game. Not recipes to win at any level. Will both be going down. Juat delaying the inevitable.
We’re back in the Bundesliga, stay tuned for my betting selections!
