BMOC Premier League Picks For Matchday 18

Written by on December 20, 2019

Christmas is just about here, but before we get to it we have another weekend of Premier League Picks. Last week I was 3-2 but because of Jamie Vardy not scoring, I took a small .10u loss on the weekend. On the season, I’m sitting at 53-50 +13.95u. Let’s add to it, here’s what I have for Matchday 18:

EVERTON V ARSENAL: Arsenal hired a new manager in Arteta. Generally when a team hires a manager they respond. I’m still not confident in there defense this season, and I like the way Everton has responded lately to their new manager. Both teams though have lacking qualities. Seems like a stalemate to me. PICK: DRAW +260

ASTON VILLA V SOUTHAMPTON: Southampton are in the bottom 3, and Villa is just above it. Huge game for both sides.  Villa have been very good at home, they continue to be one of the toughest places to play in the league, as Liverpool and Leicester are the only team to leave with 3 points this season. They should be able to take care of a bad Southampton side who has been a mess on the road. PICK: Aston Villa (+140)

BOURNEMOUTH V BURNLEY: Bournemouth have a ton of injuries to major players and because of it are mired in a goal scoring crisis right now. That’s bad news against a Burnley side who are tough and strong defensively. Not only do they keep goals out, they don’t even allow much in the way of opportunities. Both sides lack quality for the most part and this could be nil nil. PICK: UNDER 2.5 goals (-110)

BRIGHTON V SHEFFIELD UNITED: Tough one to call here, I’ve been backing Sheffield alot lately. Problem is here, Brighton is always a tough away day. PICK: PASS

NEWCASTLE V CRYSTAL PALACE: Very tough match, both teams have surprised and play hard. Better options out there. PICK: PASS

NORWICH V WOLVES: Norwich are now among the worst teams in the league. They just cannot keep goals out and regularly get beaten up because of it. Wolves have been a team that sometimes struggle against opponents they should beat. This price though is too hard to pass up against one of the worst sides in the league. PICK: Wolves (-105)

MANCHESTER CITY V LEICESTER: This should be a great match against 2 of the leagues giants right now. City continue to struggle to let goals in, but held a good Arsenal attack scoreless last weekend. Was that more on the defense or Arsenal just being inept? Jamie Vardy has scored in 8 of 9 league matches and he will here. Look at this price! PICK: Jamie Vardy to score a goal anytime (+175)

WATFORD V MANCHESTER UNITED: United haven’t lost a match since 11/2 and they continue to surprise with their caretaker of sorts manager. Watford are dead last in the league and have scored just 9 goals in 17 matches. Horrific. This could be a trap, but as a club like United you just need to take care of business here but United have been shocking away from home winning just 2 Premier League matches on the road since last Feb. PICK: PASS

TOTTENHAM V CHELSEA: Mourinho faces his old side in a London Derby. Great way to end the weekend. Spurs have seemingly been revitalized under their new manager and I think it will show here in this one. Chelsea have lost 4 of 5 and I just don’t trust them in a match of this magnitude. A victory for Spurs here, means 4th place heading into the holiday, a great place to be. PICK: Tottenham (+130)
