BMOC Premier League Picks For Matchday 17

Written by on December 12, 2019

Back again with yet another week of matches! We are getting closer and closer to the Christmas holiday, where games will come fast and furious. I am off a terrific 4-2 week and with the help of some big dogs made just over 5 units of profit. On the season I am 50-48 good for 14.05 units of profit. Let’s keep it going. Here’s what I have for Matchday 17:

LIVERPOOL V WATFORD: As we all know, this is the best team in the league against the worst. Watford have scored a pathetic 9 goals in 16 matches and this should be a blowout waiting to happen. For the Reds they will obviously win, but it’s about tightening up the defense. They are off 2 straight clean sheets and I think they get another here. Should 3 or 4 nil. PICK: Liverpool win to nil (-110)

BURNLEY V NEWCASTLE: Two mid table teams here. Burnley has been a mess lately and could definitely use this match as they’re only 3 points from the drop zone.  Outside of Newcastle,  I have no real interest in Newcastle though. This will be a match I don’t spend much time on or watch. PICK: PASS

CHELSEA V BOURNEMOUTH: Chelsea are playing well this season, but continue to have issues keeping goals out. They have only managed 4 league game clean sheets and defense needs to get sorted out. Bournemouth are a shambles though with just 1 win over their last 11 matches overall and Cherries fans aren’t happy. Just wasn’t a ton of value here for me on this one. PICK: PASS

LEICESTER V NORWICH: Bookies are starting to catch up with Leicester as the value on the straight win is as good as gone. This week, there’s no surprise though, as Norwich have been wretched and the win against City seems like 3 years ago. Jamie Vardy has scored a goal in 8 straight matches, I won’t be jumping off that wagon against a side that concedes more goals then virtually every team in the league. PICK: Jamie Vardy to score a goal anytime (-200)

SHEFFIELD UNITED V ASTON VILLA: I love this Sheffield side. They continue to play tough, hard nosed football and own one of the best defenses in the league. Chris Wilder has done a bang up job managing this group and I love them at home here. Villa continues to have issues keeping goals out and have just 1 win over their last 7. PICK: Sheffield United (+100)

SOUTHAMPTON V WEST HAM: Both these sides are awful and I have ZERO interest in backing them. PICK: PASS

MANCHESTER UNITED V EVERTON: Everton started the Duncan Ferguson era with a terrific win over Chelsea, I don’t know if they will win here, but they looked good going forward in that match and had a pep in their step for sure. United are tough and Rashford is playing at a high level but I think Everton can get something out of this. PICK: Both teams to score a goal and OVER 2.5 (+125)

WOLVES V TOTTENHAM: Wolves always play well against teams that they should struggle against. Tottenham destroyed Burnley last week with a 5 nil win. It seem like Dele Ali is getting back to his comfort zone as well. I like Wolves at home and think during an inconsistent season I expect Tottenham to struggle on the road here. But a hard match to get involved with. PICK: PASS

MANCHESTER CITY V ARSENAL: I’ve discussed the mess that Arsenal is. They did get a win vs West Ham Monday but that joy will be shortlived. They just can’t defend but do hellish attack going forward. Man City will win but the defense is tough to back right now which was evident last week vs United. This is going to be a goal fest. PICK: Man City win and OVER 2.5 (-120)

CRYSTAL PALACE V BRIGHTON: Another boring Monday night match with 2 mid table teams. PICK: PASS
