World Series Game 2: First pitch 7:08CT on Fox

The anticipated pitcher’s duel between Clayton Kershaw and Tyler Glasnow started out that way in a battle before the Dodgers offense exploded, led by a Cody Bellinger homerun. Kershaw put behind him the knock that he chokes in the postseason by throwing six strong innings of one run baseball. Dodgers took game one by a final 8-3 and will take some momentum into game 2.

Rays Keys:

Rays will look to bounce back strong on Wednesday evening when they take on the Dodgers in game 2 of the World Series. The AL East Champions will throw Blake Snell in game two. He is 2-2 with a 3.20 playoff ERA in 2020 so far. This will be his fifth start in the playoffs only making it into the sixth inning once. If the Rays want to even the series, they will need more production from the top of the order. In game 1 the top four spots went a combined 1-15 Tuesday. Manager Kevin Cash sees the importance as he already switched the leadoff hitter going into game 2. Austin Meadows hitting .108 in the playoffs followed by Brandon Lowe at .107 need to get on base for their slugger Randy Arozarena. The key to Snell is to try and control the top of the Dodgers lineup as Mookie Betts at .327 and Corey Seager at .286 are in their top two spots. Lastly, Rays will have to jump out early on Gonsolin before get.

Dodgers Keys:

After taking game one by a final score of 8-3 the Dodgers will use a bullpen game in the second game of the series to allow Walker Buehler to pitch game three on regular rest. The performance by Clayton Kershaw allowed for the Dodgers to keep their main bullpen pieces for game two as well. Dodgers will look for Mookie Betts to continue to lead at the top of the order after stealing two bases, and hitting a homerun in game one of the series. Tony Gonsolin will start game two of the series, after a tremendous regular season for the rookie, the postseason has given him issues. He has a 0-1 record with a 9.95ERA through two games in the postseason both vs the Atlanta Braves. Gonsolin will have to look out for the middle of that Rays lineup as the 3-5 hitters have combined for 14HR and 25RBIs through the postseason so far from Arozarena, Ji-Man Choi, and Manuel Margot.

Rays have the advantage in starting pitcher in game 2 without question, the problem is how deep into the game will he be able to go and will they be able to stop Betts. The top of the order has to get on for the middle of the order to provide for the Rays. The top half of the order is worrisome right now. This game will get a little high early on where the Dodgers bats prevail in game 2 winning by final score of 10-7. Mookie Betts provides the spark while Seager and Bellinger continue to drive in runs. Dodgers go in front with a 2-0 series lead.
